Is a homemade fresh diet nutritionally complete?
It can be — but only if energy, protein, fat, calcium and phosphorus are calculated against a recognised standard. The free Meal Planner shows these figures for your dog's weight and activity level. A home-made diet that isn't balanced over time can be worse than a complete commercial food.
Do I need to add calcium or supplements?
Calcium and phosphorus are usually the first things to go wrong in a home-made diet, because meat alone is very phosphorus-heavy. Whether you need a supplement depends on the recipe — the planner flags the ratio, but diet changes for a dog with a health condition should go through a vet.
Can puppies and senior dogs use it?
Puppies and seniors have different energy and nutrient requirements from adult dogs. The planner asks for age and activity level and adjusts from there; for puppies we recommend confirming the plan with a vet before switching.
How do I switch from kibble?
Gradually, over about 7–10 days, mixing a growing proportion of fresh food into the current diet. Sudden changes are the most common cause of an upset stomach.
Does the meal planner cost anything?
No. The Meal Planner and the Ingredient Library are free. Your recipes can be saved locally in your browser without an account. Nutrition consulting for special cases is planned as a paid service later.
Is AoliDeli a veterinary service?
